Anacortes is where you catch the ferry to Friday Harbor, and the farm is a short drive once you land. Now the one thing to get right. The ferry runs on Washington State Ferries, and you cannot just roll up and expect a spot for your car. Bringing a vehicle? Book a vehicle reservation online the moment the summer 2027 window opens. These sell out fast for August, and they release in waves, so grab yours early. Walking on is the easy button. Foot passengers and bikes never need a reservation, and you can park at the Anacortes terminal and stroll aboard. One catch. A reservation holds your car a spot but is not your ticket, so buy the ticket too, online or at the dock. Going home works the same way in reverse. Friday Harbor is one of the few island terminals that takes reservations for the trip back to Anacortes, so book your return car spot when you book the outbound one. Give yourself buffer on checkout day. Summer sailings fill up and the line can run long.
